Different Types of Tennis Balls

TennisPlanet knows all too well that there are so many different types of balls. This is necessary because there are various types of tennis courts, players and game levels. The specifications for each tennis ball are quite different. There are stage 1,2, and 3 tennis balls that are pressurised as well as non-pressurised. TennisPlanet offers a large assortment of balls within these categoris from brands like: Dunlop, Babolat, HEAD and Wilson.

Non-pressurised tennis balls

Non-pressurised balls have, as the name implies, no pressure. This tennis ball is formed by a rubber core and are often used for training because they last longer than pressurised balls.

Pressurised tennis balls

Pressurised balls are balls with pressure inside the ball. The pressure is made possible by inserting gas into the rubber core. This gas, however, gradually wears out, making the balls have a shorter life span than their non-pressurised counterparts. Pressurised balls are used most often in tournaments, tennis competitions and other events. These competition balls have a better feeling with a tennis stroke and are often required for tournaments.

Stage 1, 2, and 3 tennis balls

The Stage versions are the softer tennis balls, which are ideal for children. They are often used by novice tennis players, as they offer good ball control and help to develop strength. The tennis balls are often identified by colours, respectively green, orange or red.
