After a lot of umming and ahhing and a couple of long (and helpful) telephone calls with Jim, I finally settled on this stringing machine. The purpose was to step up to a machine that would allow me to continue to string badminton rackets and extend my repertoire to Tennis and Squash as well. This machine is also my first 'professional' level machine and it sure looks good.
The stand arrived promptly and well packaged in two LARGE boxes - you may need to have a hand when receiving these as the delivery man struggled to get them to the door! On unpacking the joy of assembly begins.... Included in the box is a good manual which clearly shows how to assemble the unit and to set up for the first racket re-string. On checking the tension calibration I found it to be different from my calibration unit, so followed the instructions to 're-calibrate' which was very easy and simple to follow - one word of warning though, the settings go up to 35Kg, so trying to calibrate with badminton string holding the calibrator can cause some issues! Use strong string!!
First racket to practice stringing was a badminton racket, and included with the unit are some good 'badminton' specific clamps - these need to be adjusted carefully so as to avoid crushing the string as well as gripping securely. On doing the deed there were a couple of points where it was difficult to get the clamps really close to the racket frame - the side supports are quite chunky. Other than that the clamps were smooth and easy to operate.
After reading a few horror stories of electronic machines over-pulling / snapping strings / pulling to fast it was a pleasure to find that this unit pulled at a good rate, and very smoothly. No problems with frame or string damage :)
Ok, this is a review after only one string job, but is was fun and leaves me wanting to do more! - Shame that there are no more rackets in the cupboard needing a re-string. I'm looking forward to doing more in the future, in the mean time the machine sits quietly on top the cupboard making visitors go ooooohhhhh nice......

Where to start with this machine. The guys at Tennis Planet were very helpful with any questions i had to ask before i made my decision and their very friendly to talk to!
Machine arrived very well packaged and was very easy to setup and start using straight away!
The build quality of the machine is absolutely fantastic, the clamps are so smooth and easy to use. The mounting system is very fluid and the racket is very stable with no movement when pulling tension.
Since i was upgrading to this machine from a manual crank i wasn't sure what to find with the tension head. Half way through my first racket all my worries had gone for good! Its a very smooth pulling tensioner, no string marks and
the tension calibration was very simple to do!
All this with a 5 year warranty on parts - what more could you ask for? Excellent value for money and far superior to similar machines at this price.
Can't recommend this machine highly enough!

This machine is an absolute pleasure to work with. From setting the racket in the machine to cutting the knots at the end, this machine is set up perfectly for speed and ease of use.
The racket feels extremely secure on the machine and the tension pulling mechanism is very simple to use. All this included in the Tennis Planet price shows great value for money when you compare this with similar machines from other brands. Very pleased with this purchase, thanks!
